Porch Leveling Wichita

Why Do Porches Sink?

Porches often settle because of shifting soil and Kansas weather. Common causes include:

  • Soil erosion and washout near the foundation
  • Expansive soils shrinking and swelling with moisture changes
  • Voids forming beneath the porch slab
  • Poor soil compaction during construction
  • Water pooling or drainage issues around the entryway

Once the soil loses strength, porches can crack, tilt, or pull away from the home.

Porches often sink with steps, sidewalks, or driveways. Our team lifts them all so your home’s entrance stays safe and welcoming.

Dave and his partner did an excellent job. We had a sidewalk down the side of the garage that had dropped 4-6 ". All was intact except the curved piece going to the driveway, it was cracked into 2 pieces. They raised up the entire sidewalk as one piece, but in the process the cracked curve piece did not line up. Dave showed me the stress marks and slanting in a small section of the main driveway that was next to the cracked corner piece. I had him raise that piece as well. Now the entire sidewalk, cracked corner piece and one small section of the main drive all line up and look great. They did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend them.

I like the honesty and non sales approach. They really try to do what’s needed and not sell you on extra non needed things.

Midwest Foamworks was great to work with. Showed up when they said they would and was very informative and pleasant and did a great job on the slab porch. Then came back the next day and lifted the garage floor and got it all even and then sealed cracks that were in it. Cleaned up the job site and advised when it was done and answered any questions I had. Would I have them out again? Yes I definitely would. Thank you Midwest Foamworks, it was a pleasure doing business with you!

Mikel came out to look at my sinking front porch. She was very upfront about the issues my foundation was having. Mikel respectfully told me that their company did not have a solution, but gave me recommendations for two local companies to contact. I feel like most companies would have just bid the job, and performed a repair that would not last. Mikel's honesty in this situation likely saved me time and money. Midwest Foam Works is top notch.

If you need foundation work done, I would definitely make Midwest Foam Works your first call. They are professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Foundation work can be expensive and every company I considered/worked with wanted 1/2 payment upfront and balance when completed. Midwest FW asked for payment when work was finished. Any questions I had were answered and explained. When you have to have expensive work like this done; you also want "peace of mind. Midwest Foam Works is worth checking out.
